Before Recording
1. Review our equipment guide:
Make sure you have the right microphone, camera, or other input device for the best possible recording quality.
2. Adjust your computer’s microphone sensitivity:
This can help ensure clear audio during the interview.
3. Test your internet connection:
A stable connection is crucial for a seamless recording. Test your connection here.
4. Use a supported browser:
Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge are currently the recommended browsers for Riverside.
5. Close unnecessary tabs and application:
This will help reduce any potential interference with the recording.
6. Disable VPNs, browser extension, content blocker, and firewalls:
This can sometimes cause issues with recording quality.
7. Test screen sharing:
If you plan to share your screen during the interview, test this feature in the Riverside Studio before the recording begins.
During Recording
1. Wear headphones:
This helps prevent echo and improves overall audio quality.
2. Use an external microphone:
External microphones provide better sound quality than built-in mics.
3. Choose a well-lit space:
Record in a room with daylight or a lamp in front of you to ensure proper lighting.
4. Position the strongest light source in front of you:
Avoid having bright lights behind you.
IMPORTANT: Remember that your locally recorded track will be higher quality than what you see and hear during the live call.
After Recording
Wait for the upload to complete: Keep the Riverside browser window open until you see “Upload Complete” or “100% Uploaded.” This ensures that your recording is saved properly.
