With an enduring enthusiasm for following breaking news stories and popular culture, Molly Baker McPherson started her company, Molly + Co. after working for 20 years in public relations and the news industry. As an expert in crisis communication and response strategies, Molly developed her Indestructible PR® framework to help companies write effective responses to public relations crisis, especially those occurring online. She is the author of the book, ‘Indestructible: Reclaim Control and Respond with Confidence in a Media Crisis.’
Previously, Molly served in the external affairs office at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) where she introduced the agency’s first digital media efforts in response to the public backlash from the Hurricane Katrina response. As Director of Communications for Cruise Line International Association in Arlington, Virginia, Molly handled the official media responses related to maritime security during the 9/11 attacks and the norovirus outbreak on cruise ships in 2002.
Host of the weekly podcast “Indestructible PR® with Molly McPherson,” she runs a popular TikTok account for analyzing the latest PR crisis. A frequent keynote speaker, she discusses crisis communications, public relations, and latest PR and social media crises.
Molly earned her Master of Science in Mass Communication with a concentration in new media from Boston University. She graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a concentration in broadcast journalism. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and earned her Accreditation in Public Relations in 2018.
Molly is in the process of winding down from her primary career – as the driver to four amazing kids who provided her the opportunty to visit every hockey rink, baseball and soccer field in New England. She is also an avid runner, pretend expert chef, sports fan, and dog mom forever.
